Extension work for the rail link Bari Centrale-San Paolo are in optimal execution's state. This is what emerged this morning during the inspection, led by the Chief Executive of Ferrotramviaria SpA , Enrico Maria Pasquini , on the site of the new station called "Cecilia". There was present the Regional Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, Dr. Giovanni Giannini , the Mayor of Bari, Dr. Michele Emiliano, the Deputy Mayor of the City Urban Mobility and Traffic of Modugno's town, Dr. Agostino Romita and the Director General of Transport of Ferrotramviaria SpA, Engineer Massimo Nitti.
The metropolitan railway connection, already in operation between the station of Bari Centrale and San Paolo district, will be extended and implemented with two new stations, called "Cecilia" and " Delle Regioni". The extension , made entirely in the gallery, has been divided into two functional stages the first of which, including the stop "San Paolo Ospedale" and the new stop "Cecilia" , is in an advanced execution's state. The work, created by the company COBAR which had awarded the work, will have a length of about 1.5 km, which will be added to 5.5 km in operation, and will lead to 9 the number of stops in urban service area San Paolo.
